The fact is that you can create a path of decorated stones near your bench or else you can create a stony border within your wildflower patch as well.
The materials which will require include a mold, a Quickcrete mortar mix, a bucket, a pair of rubber gloves, a mixing tool and a trowel. Other materials include a paper mask, a protective eyewear, paper towels, craft sticks and decorative items respectively. The steps which are needed to be followed are mentioned below.
- You will poke some drainage holes at the bottom of your plastic plant tray or else you can reinforce your pizza box with tape.
- You need to draw your design using paper template.
- You need to mix mortar with water till a consistent thick frosting is formed.
- You will pour the mortar into the mold. For this u need to wear gloves at first and then knead the mixture till there are no bubbles. After this you need to smooth the top of the trowel too.
- You need to embed your decorative items and for this you will begin with the border and then reach the middle. You will notice that the mixture will grab the decorative items as you will press it with a craft stick or your gloved hands. But you should not press too hard, as the mixture can get stuck to the surface.
- You need to leave your stone dry up in a protected area. Usually mixtures dry up in a couple of hours, but it may take a bit longer too.
- You need to carefully turn over the mold and gently pop out the stone. If you are using a cardboard box, then you should rip part the box.
