Career Options after Landscape School degree

There are a lot of options for a landscape school graduate.  Jobs ranging from manual labor to professional consultancy are available.  There are just some firms who have different kinds of requirements depending on the position available.

The thing that comes to mind when you think about jobs after landscape school will involve working outdoors.  This will most likely include grounds keeping, gardening and the like.  However, this is not true because of graduates do get jobs that keep them indoors most of the time planning and designing.  Although there is indeed a difference in the pay when it comes to the location of your job but people who do specialize in landscaping can earn as much as $25,000 to $60,000 a year.  Not bad for someone who shovels dirt for a living.  It really depends on the extent of the degree of the graduate.

Those who have an associate degree should not expect to get more because those with a bachelors degree did spend more time studying and learning more about the science and intricacies of landscaping.  However, landscape school graduates are given the same kind of opportunities even with the difference in degrees.  After graduation, usually most of the degree holders get into designing and planning for landscape firms. Some graduates though prefer to work on their own and be their own boss getting clients through referrals.  There are a lot of firms that need the expertise of people who go into further studies on the topic of landscaping.  Firms are not limited to gardening centers or home improvement stores but also nurseries that prefer to have an in-house landscape professional who can help out their clients.

There are lots of  job opportunities for landscape school graduates.  You can get into setting up your own landscape business or join a landscaping firm.  Whatever it is, you are assured of green pastures for the future.
