Reinvent Your Furniture
You want to add one of those trendy outdoor rooms to your home, but you just don’t have the money. Maybe you’re already remodeling one of the rooms inside your home and it seems silly to spend more money on your outdoors. Well there’s no need to worry because you can have both at an affordable price by reinventing your indoor furniture to transform it into outdoor furniture.
Painting is the first way you can remodel any piece of furniture to fit the outdoors. Just pick a color palate that suits the ambience of the outdoor room you’re striving for and voilia, a brand new piece of furniture. If you’re remodeling your basement for example and you’re just going to throw out the wooden chairs you used to use down there, instead paint the chairs a nice, bright, outdoorsy color and use them for your outdoor seating.
An armoire can be transformed to make a great shed for gardening tools. Again, just pick the right color of paint and hammer in a few extra nails to hang your tools on and you’ve created a beautiful shed. This will not only make your outdoor room look beautiful, but it will be functional as well. The armoire can be made into other storage as well. This could be a great place to store the cushions to your furniture when it’s going to rain or snow. You could also store towels or pool accessories in the armoire, if applicable. There are many things you can transform this dresser into so think of what kind of storage you need and decorate the armoire appropriately.
Bookcases also make for great outdoor storage. You can turn your old bookcase on its side and suddenly it’s the perfect coffee table for your outdoor room. Depending on the size, an entertainment center can provide you with the same effect. If the entertainment center is large enough you could turn it into your outdoor bar. When you’re reinventing this kind of furniture there are plenty of different items you could transform your indoor furniture into. You just need to think of what will best suit the needs of your outdoor room.
For that perfect finishing touch put your old mirrors outside as well. Maybe they no longer fit the look of your finished basement, but if you can hang plants around the mirror you will make the outdoor room appear larger and have a creative spot to highlight your garden.
Just because you’re spending money on remodeling the inside of your home, doesn’t mean you have to neglect the outside of your home. You’ve worked hard to get out of the apartment lifestyle and into a beautiful home. So take advantage of our outdoor space and decorate affordably by turning your indoor furniture into beautiful outdoor furniture and make your home perfect from the inside out.
